Jayantha has had close links with CAA since 2007 when he first attended the CAA General Assembly in Melbourne, Australia as President of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA). It was here that he made a successful bid to host and then acted as the National Convener for the CAA Conference and General Assembly in 2010 in Colombo,
Jayantha has been involved in ARCASIA (Architects regional Council Asia), first as the Chairman of the Board of Architectural Education of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects during the period 2003 / 2004 when he attended and contributed to the Bangladesh and Macau Meetings. In 2005 he was elected Chair of ACAE and during the years 2005 / 2006 while chairing the ACAE in Changmai and in Beijing, he was instrumental in publishing ARCASIA Time Line.
Jayantha has served as Deputy Chairman ARCASIA Zone A for the period 2009-2010 and is the current Immediate Past Chairman of SAARCH (South Asian Association for Regional corporation of Architects and is Chairman for Architects Registration Board Sri Lanka).
In 2007 as President of SLIA, he was instrumental in hosting ARCASIA in Sri Lanka to coincide with the Golden Jubillee Celebration of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects.
During the post Tsunami period in Sri Lanka Jayantha served as the chairman of the AFSTV (Architects fund to Shelter Tsunami Victims) a f SLIA fund raising initiative to build houses for the Tsunami victims in Sri Lanka. Two projects were successfully completed in the south and east of Sri Lanka.
Currently Jayantha is a Faculty Board member of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Moratuwa Sri Lanka and a Member of the Board of Directors of the City School of Architecture (Colombo) Ltd.
