Biography
Peter is a Chartered Architect and Client Adviser with considerable experience of working internationally, particularly in the Middle East where he has completed projects in Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and the UAE.
He is the former Deputy Chairman of Aedas Architects Ltd, responsible for its London office until 2010, and was Director responsible for the Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat’s (CTBUH) award winning Al Bahr Towers in Abu Dhabi.
More recently, Peter served as Client Adviser to the government of Oman in connection with the development of a new city located in the Muscat capital area.
He served as Vice President International at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) until September 2017 when he was elected as a Council member at the International Union of Architects (UIA). In 2016 he was elected Vice President Europe at the Commonwealth Architects Association (CAA). He is also a CABE Built Environment Expert.
In 2016, Peter became the inaugural Chair of the UK Built Environment Advisory Group, a collaboration between the RIBA, the RTPI and the IStructE, the aim of which is to provide a more effective conduit for the transfer of built environment expertise to a range of humanitarian and development partners together with foreign governments. In January 2017 he was elected as Chair of the RIBA’s Sustainability and Ethics Commission.
Peter is working with policy makers and fellow professionals around the world to advance the sustainable cities agenda.
